From the author’s slug section, select the custom option, enter your desired slug (For example, I use WPX for my slug’s name), and finally save.
How to change Author Base in WordPress
To change the base of the author simply from the settings section, select the edit author slug option. From the Author Base section, write your desired phrase for the base address.
The default value of this field is equal to the author. We change the base value as desired. For example, we can use “writer.” Then, we click on the save button.
